Too many people these days are getting scammed by fake work at home jobs and business opportunities. It takes a little more time to investigate these companies but you will be better off in the long run and you will still have your identity and your wallet in tact. There are at least five simple steps you can take to learn about an opportunity that you are considering.
1. Investigate the company. Search work at home forums on the internet and search them for what other people are saying about the job or the business. Find out as much as possible about the company including where it is located etc. Take notes to compare between those that you like later on.
2. How much does it cost? If it’s a work at home job, then it should be totally free, if it’s not free, don’t consider it. If it’s a business opportunity there can sometimes be costs or fees associated with joining a company like this, but there are plenty of free ones out there as well that are much more likely to be genuine. So for the sake of being extra careful, if the opportunity you’re considering has any type of fee…only consider joining if it also offers a free membership level where you have the option of upgrading to a higher fee based level later on, after you are satisfied that the opportunity is a good one.
3. Weed though the hype. There is always going to be some kind of hype with almost anything. Its advertising and it works, but you need to dig through the fluff and address the facts and not the hype.
4. Ask some questions. What are the expectations of you, how will you be paid, is there training information available to you, what support is provided, etc. Get your concerns answered before you commit yourself to anything.
5. Be informed about other scams. You probably know that envelope stuffing is a scam, but there are other things out there to watch out for. Paying fees for processing claims, rebates, doing data entry are all likely scams. Chain letters and overseas shipment scams are very popular too. Anyone telling you that you can make lots of money easily and quickly is lying to you and trying to take your money, avoid them all.
People fall in to all sorts of scams and you can avoid them by following a set of criteria like these 5 keys. You have probably seen much of this information before but it might help to see it in an organized way. I have used this information to help me in my personal search for a legitimate business opportunity and I hope that it helps you in your search.
